Be Confident
Confidence, for some people, is standing up in front of the class or for others, trying to make new friends. Everyone talks about confidence as a thing that people already have and that it is an easy thing to have, but in reality, confidence is probably one of the trickiest things a human will need to experience. But we need it. We need that push that allows us to agree and trust in ourselves. Because only we know what we have been through, only we know what goes on in our head, so allowing that space and freedom is what builds up confidence. A personal experience of mine has helped me see what confidence really is. In school, I had to work in a group of 4 to come up with an idea that will change the UK. We then had to present this in the form of a PowerPoint. I was really proud of how much we accomplished. But on the day, one girl in my group decided to change everything and with everything changed, we had no script! We went up infront of the class and as it was my turn to speak. I froze. Completely. I could hear the words coming out of my mouth as gibberish and no one could understand what I was saying! Then after our failure of a PowerPoint, I started laughing. Out of nowhere! And the reason that I felt so happy afterwards was because I had the confidence to go up there with no script and try even though you may have moments of doubts or fear, you should never back away or be fearful. As Auguste Gusteau from Ratatouille once said, “ you must be imaginative, strong-hearted. You must try new things that may not work, and you must not let anyone define your limits because of where you come from. Your only limit is your soul.”
